Taking A Break

I've been "on vacation" for a few weeks since I finished my latest biography.  The first thing I did was make some doll dresses for 3 cute granddaughters.  I love these!
I found this fabric -- it's called tutti fruti.  So fun to sew with -- I made some bean bags for my special needs Primary child, who loves playing catch with me.  And yes, she noticed the bumblebees.
I have two very young granddaughters I will see this month.  I thought I should make something for them.  I used the tutti fruiti fabric to make these dolls, but they look kind of scary to me.

So I tried again and made these elephants.  Ben actually used the word, "darling."  I like them, too.  Especially the toes.
Ben and I helped Mary plant her garden.  I'm a boring gardener, but Mary planted basil and cilantro.  Can't wait!
I've done a lot of baking.  These are my new favorite snack, with cranberries and chocolate chips.
Making bagels is now part of my lifestyle. Rolls and bread aren't nearly as fun to make as bagels.

I've relaxed a bit, and even eaten dinner outside on our back porch several times.

Last but not least, I made a pirate cape for a cute grandson.  I'm almost ready to start my next genealogy project:  Joseph Fielding, Mary Fielding Smith's brother and my g-g-g grandfather.
