Blast From the Past: Direct Line

I've had this picture of my father in the Aleutian Islands during WWII for a very long time, but it was too big for my scanner.  
I had the same problem with this picture.  But I found some software which stitched the parts of these two photos together.  Voila!
My Cannon grandparents.  I didn't know my grandfather very well, but I still deeply love Nana.
This is a fun picture.  This copy was one Dad made.  Nana is second from the left, shown about 1922 with her sisters.  They were all a very fashionable bunch.


  1. I love the second picture, of your family. I have seen all of the others enough to recognize them on sight, but didn't have a mental version of that one.

    I didn't realize how tall Phil was. And I wonder what (who?) Grandpa is looking at...

  2. Grandpa often looked away from the camera. I don't know why, but that was his practice.
